If you feel that your GA has been unjustly denied, terminated, or reduced, you have the right to appeal for a fair hearing to the Champaign County Public Aid Committee within 60 days after the decision of the local office.

If you wish to appeal, the City of Champaign Township office or the Office of the Champaign County Board, 1776 E. Washington, Urbana, can supply you with an appeal form. You can receive help from the City of Champaign Township office or from the Champaign County Board office in filling out this form.

If you file an appeal within 10 days of the date of change (or within 10 days of the date of notice when there is no date of change), assistance benefits may be continued at the present level pending the results of the appeal.
